Looks like the new James Web Space Telescope is able to view galaxies much closer to the Big Bang (birth) of the universe than we were previously able to see.

“Spectroscopic confirmation of a very low luminosity (~ 0.05L) galaxy at z = 9.76, observed 480 Myr after the Big Bang.”1
